At the Institute of Horticulture Conference 2013, Nicola Gammon set out to show how her website Shoot is using web technologies to connect gardeners in radically new and exciting ways, and how its membership has expanded through constant innovation fuelled by member engagement. Subsequently, Shoot and IoH have made some good links.

Gardeners dig online for ideas

Shoot Gardening is a website that combines forums, online shopping and practical advice with a membership offer. At the basic free level, membership gives you access to design tips and advice for some of the plants in your garden. Pay a subscription and you can pretty much plug your whole garden in and get tailored advice in return.

Shootgardening.co.uk is a unique website to help gardeners design, manage, care for and share their gardens online.
