By Garden Designer Charlotte Rowe. The focal point of this central London garden is a stepping stone water feature which exploits the split levels of the site and creates a calm contemporary space.
The garden is paved in cool cream Portuguese limestone and features a central planted 'rill' of Mind Your Own Business (Soleirolia soleirolii) and black polished pebbles which runs right through both levels.
The horizontal slatted trellis, hand made benches and plant containers in Iroko planted with Convolvulus cneorum further soften the look and shrubs including Cornus alba 'Sibirica', Euphorbia charachias 'Wulfenii' and clipped Prunus lusitanica are interspersed with perennials such as Astrantia major 'Claret', Geranium 'Johnson's Blue' and Echinops ritro 'Veitch's Blue' and bulbs such as Allium spaerocephalum.
There are narrow shelves full of Lavendula angustifolia 'Little Lady' and the four clear stemmed olive trees (Olea europeae) are spectacularly uplit at night.
