Designed by Jack Dunkley. The garden takes inspiration from one’s progression to retirement, where you have time to take in your surroundings and enjoy the senses the garden stimulates.
Acting as a pathway to retirement the planting symbolizes a stage in a person’s life and their development into maturity. The viewing windows allow glimpses of the garden from outside and also experiment with the contrasting textures of hard and soft landscaping.
A pavilion to the end of the garden presents the opportunity to appreciate the nuances created by the planting and gives you the chance to think about your journey to the present moment.
The garden uses a mauve colour palette to soothe and relax the visitors as they walk through the garden. Plants such as Lavandula angustifolia act as a focal point to the end of the garden and guide you to the pavilion.
