By Dejardin Design with Lyndon Landscapes. The LOROS Garden of Light and Reflection aims to heighten awareness of the therapeutic benefits of gardens.
Hoping to capture the essence of the Leicester hospice (LOROS), the design plays on the theory that time spent in, or looking at the garden, can help a patient come to terms with an incurable illness.
The design of the garden reflects the ethnic diversity of the local population, whilst also being wheelchair friendly and providing year round interest through colour, texture and form.
The use of fragrant planting such as Rosemary and Lillies, as well as a variety of edible crops including alpine strawberries, peas and cherry tomatoes creates a lavish feast for the senses.
