Designed by garden designer Juliet Sargeant MSGD. Shortlisted in the Landscape Sustainability category in The SGD Awards 2012.
A derelict acre of non-residential land in the river Thames needed to be used for recreation and boating by the client and their three young children. The brief was that it remained ‘natural’ and in keeping with the river while allowing space for mooring boats. No new materials were to brought onto the site and all the design intentions had to be achieved with planting – using native and non-native plants that can survive flood conditions and attract wildlife.
