Designed by Heather Appleton. The QEF logo has inspired the uplifting theme of this garden. The design captures the bubbly atmosphere at QEF’s residential home for disabled young people, where every achievement, however large or small, is recognised and joyfully celebrated.
The easily-navigated circular pathway is taken from the logo’s ‘Q’, limiting the need for three point turns, normally a daily hazard for wheelchairs users.
Celebratory bubbles feature everywhere: soaring overhead from carefully concealed bubble machines, in the paving pattern, on the copper screens and in the planting, which features heavy bubbles of box supported by wispy grasses. The bubbles aptly represent the way in which QEF’s carers and supporters are uplifted and enthused by the joyful atmosphere at the residential home.
The garden is being rebuilt at the QEF residential home after the show. Sponsored by Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People.
