The garden includes a host of elements that hark back to its roots including: planting based on the farm’s botanical garden and hedgerows; a stone wall built from Northamptonshire stone to mimic the farm’s walls;a water feature representing the natural spring where water is taken for distillation; bee boles symbolising the farm’s apiary; and copper seating designed to represent the Warner Edwards stills Curiosity and Satisfaction.

Working with garden designers Tamara Bridge and Kate Savill, both winners of the RHS Young Designer of the Year, Warner Edwards has chosen over 40 different plant varieties for the garden – all either botanical, wild-life friendly or edible. A selection of the chosen plants reflects the ingredients used in the creation of Warner Edwards naturally-flavoured gins, including rhubarb, elderflower and sloes. The garden also boasts a host of plants that have been chosen for their highly aromatic and flavoursome characters, providing the perfect garnish for gin. Bee-friendly planting is also a big focus for the garden and a big proportion of the planting will belong to the Lamiaceae plant family, which has been proven to not only be a fantastic source of nectar for bees but beneficial for their overall health too.

Edwards ongoing commitment to protecting pollinators and safeguarding the countryside, something that the whole team is particularly passionate about and that echoes their work back at the farm, planting local wildflower meadows and providing packs of wildflower seeds with every bottle of their Honeybee Gin.

Beyond the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the garden will be relocated to Falls Farm, where it will be incorporated into existing botanical garden to be enjoyed by distillery tour visitors for years to come. Over time the ingredients harvested in the garden will also be used in the creation of Warner Edwards gin and will also be served up to garnish their signature gin and tonics.
