Cultural control of asparagus beetle

Asparagus beetles emerge from the soil in late spring and lay black eggs on the asparagus spears and foliage. Hand pick the beetles and larvae from plants from late spring onwards.

To destroy overwintering beetle, dispose of old stems at the end of the year.
