Whenever possible, tolerate moderate cutworm damage.
Keep plants well-watered since cutworms are vulnerable to rain and irrigation.
Grow susceptible plants under fine mesh or fleece to prevent adult moths from laying eggs on plants. May sure the netting does not touch the plants since the adults will be able to lay eggs through the holes.
Remove larvae from the soil when spotted.
Cultivating the soil can briefly expose cutworms to predatory birds.
