Cultural control of iris rhizome rot

Ensure rhizomes are planted in well-drained soil with the rhizomes partially exposed.

If only a small portion of the rhizome is infected, cut away infected parts with a clean, sharp knife. Disinfect the knife frequently. Allow cut surfaces to dry completely before planting.
