Cultural control of leaf-mining sawflies

When possible, tolerate populations of leaf-mining sawflies as they rarely affect the long-term health of host plants.

If desired, pick off infected leaves and squash any larvae found. It's ineffective to remove leaves if the mined area has already dried up and gone papery, as the miner has already hatched and no longer damage the leaf.
