Cultural control of raspberry leaf and bud mite

In most cases, raspberry leaf and bud mite can be tolerated as the damage they casue rarely affects cropping. 

When heavy infestations do occur, it is best to remove and replace any plants that no longer produce a worthwhile crop. 

Select raspberry cultivars that are less susceptible to mites. These cultivars include 'Gala', 'Galante', 'Glen Lyon', 'Glen Magna', 'Glen Prosen', 'Glen Rose', 'Julia', 'Lauren', 'Leo', 'Malahat', 'Rossana', 'Terrie Louise', and 'Tulameen'.

There are not insecticides available to home gardeners to control this pest.
