Inspect plants with a torch on spring and summer evenings. Pick off any adult weevils found. If feasible, shake the plant over newspaper or tarp to dislodge more adults.
In glasshouses, look under pots where the beetles hide during the day.
Trap adults with sticky barriers around pots or glasshouse staging.
Remove as many larvae as possible from compost.
Be vigilant even if it appears the problem is under control, as vine weevil population can quickly regain numbers if left unchecked.
