Hard prune alba, damask, moss and sweet briar roses to rejuvinate

When renovating (or hard pruning) cut out up to a quarter of the oldest stems and cut the rest by one-third. This hard pruning may seem harsh, and may reduce flowering over the next seasons, but it usually worth it as it stimulates strong growth needed for the plant's longevity.
