Hard prune winter/early flowering shrubs (optional)

This is optional care for deciduous shrubs that flower on the previous year's growth in winter or early spring.

Hard pruning after flowering will induce strong growth in summer. Cut all stems to strong buds or sturdy new shoots near the plant's base. Pruning as early as possible will give the maximum growing period for the young shoots.
