Plant broccoli or turnip seedlings in final place

Seedlings can be transplanted when they are 10 cm (3 in) tall. Water the rows the day before transplanting. The soil should be firm and contain plenty of well rotted compost etc, preferably from a previous crop, it should also be well limed. Plant firmly, setting the seedlings about 3cm (1 in) deeper than there were in the seed bed. Leave 45cm (1 1/2 ft) between purple and white varieties, but only 30cm (1ft) between green sprouting varieties. Water in after planting.
