Plant cranberries in autumn or spring

Plant cranberries 35 cm apart in autumn or spring in boggy, and very acidic (less than pH 4.5) soil. If you do not have such a site, dig a hole at least 1m x 1m. Line the hole with polythene and back fill it again with ericaceous compost. You can also add 2 handfuls of bone meal fertiliser to each large bucketful added. Water regularly with soft water.
