Protect tree trunks from rabbit damage in winter

Gnawed trunks can be an issue in winter when other vegetation is scarce. Wrap partly gnawed trunks in black polythene to encourage the damaged area to callus over. Bridge grafting can sometimes save badly damaged trees, particulary fruit trees like apples.
