Sanding (optional)

Sanding is a practice where a thin layer of sand (3 cm thick) is spread over the cranberry beds in order to stimulate new root and vine growth, improve aeration, and promote surface water drainage. Sanding also helps maintain uniform water levels throughout the bed.
