Support cordon grown tomato

Support cordon types with canes or string, carefully removing sideshoots as they develop. Plant the young tomato plant next to a cane and tie in. Continue to tie the stem every 30 cm as the plant grows.

Pinch out side shoots when they are 3cm long, and remove most of yellow foliage below the fruit as the season progresses. Either limit the tomato plant to a single stem and train it up the side and over the roof of the greenhouse or wall (can grow as tall as 2.5 m or 8 ft) or allow the tomato to have three stems so you have a wider but shorter plant.
