Water vegetables

Water during periods of drought. Some vegetables, such as carrots and brassica may split if the ground is very dry and then is suddenly watered by a downpour. Alternating dryness and wet can cause blossom end rot or fruit splitting.

It is best to water around the plants and not over them.
