How do current members feel about the upgrade plan? Is it very useful for garden design? Is it easy to create the actual design/shape of the garden space and can google map coordinates be used or architects plans used to create the shapes of the site?

Cant see Care Calender

I have been getting emails saying You have a new set of care instructions for your garden. Make sure to cross them off your list to ensure your garden will continue to look beautiful. But when I click the link I go to my dashboard and I cant see any care instructions. I have clicked every link I can see. I found this help page https://www.shootgardening.com/design-and-plan/care-calendar and see what I assume dashboard should look like. When I click Get started on that page I just go back to dashboard. Added screenshots of my dashboard / what I think I should see. Can someone let me know what I need to do. Many thanks

How do you save plant list so that you can delete a restart?

Yes that is correct. Since October 2021 we have been asking our pro members to delete, or reactivate to save, all their archived gardens. Your archived gardens list must be empty by 29 April. Please contact the team at shoot@shootgardening.co.uk and we can explain more. Thanks Thea

I only have a 'delete' option, no 'archive' option on my active gardens. Why?

Hi Mrs. Finch, there are differences yes and yes the planner for pro's has more features. If you email shoot@shootgardening.co.uk we can email you a spreadsheet comparison.

What do you wish to achieve? What do you find clunky? Have you attended our training sessions?

All the best, Nicola

Has anyone upgraded from the hobby package to professional? What are the differences? Obviously the number of gardens. Is there a difference between the hobby planner and the pro planner? Is there any difference in building up plant lists? I’ve started to use shoot more and just wonder if it would be less clunky if I splashed out and upgraded. I tried to watch the video for prospective users but it wanted my website address.

Hi Nicola that feature is for professional members only and not for 'home' hobby users. Thanks

Hi both, and welcome!

We raised some funding this year and we are completely rebuilding Shoot. We are looking for international members to participate in an international users' panel to help advise us on what works and what doesn't work for international regions. If you are interested in participating in this please email us at shoot@shootgardening.co.uk and entitle your email 'International users advisory' and we will share the next steps.

Thanks!
Nicola

Hi Ian, we raised some funding earlier this year and we are in the process of completely rebuilding the website. We will be resolving that issue in the next version.

It is prudent in any case to log out and in and save regularly when using the garden planner as you may be logged out without being aware of it and your work may not be saved. We need to ensure all users of the garden planner are paying members and that is currently done on login. You should not leave that application open on your computer for long periods of time.

Thanks!

Auto log out question

Hi, It seems I get logged out after a short period if I don't do anything on the site.

Is it possible to create a longer delay before the site automatically logs you out ?

Thanks

Hi Julie, I've got the same problem. The situation is still the same. Although I am based in the UK I do design gardens in NL and I don't understand why Shoot limits the care calendar to UK addresses. Come on Shoot, change it!

Hi Roz, hope this helps? You can select the plants you forgot to move across and 'copy them to another garden' by using the 'Tools' drop-down option. Please see attached.

Hi, does anyone know how to copy a plant list from one file and a drawing from a different file? To be clearer I have just drawn up a garden in a file but realise I didn't copy the plants from my master plan first as you are supposed to - is there anyway to join them together on the same file to save me manually entering each plant again? thanks

I have discovered that I can add a text box to each tree. Rather disappointed that nobody on the team had made this comment. Of course the 'better' solution would be for the tool to automatically generate a number for each tree. They must be individually identified in the Shoot database to allow for varying sizes. Perhaps the team could consider making this an option for each plant, another checkbox along with 'lock in place' or 'transparent'?

Is there any way I can assign an individual id for the trees in my garden? I have around 400 in 3.5 acres of an established garden, many of which need attention, and I want to put together a plan with a note for each tree identifying what needs to be done. I have all the trees mapped on Shoot, but there seems to be no way to identify an individual tree, as opposed to all trees of a particular species. Many thanks.

Hi Stef,

Please use the print a section tool found under File > Print a section. It creates a blue box which you can resize to cover everything you wish, including all your labels to ensure that it's saved.

Please see the screenshots saved which goes through the steps.

Many thanks,
Ben

On the video, when you associate a plant shape with a plant in the plant list, there was an option on the colour and size tab to use the photo of the plant. I don't have that option. Have I missed something?

Many thanks - that has sorted the problem. I no longer need to create a new plan. I shall attend the webinar anyway. Many thanks for your patience.

Hi Nicola yes it should be just fine. Please attach a screenshot of your plan. What size are the grid squares? Are they 1 meter or set larger than 1 m? If they are 4m square you may assume the grid is too small.

We have a training webinar in 2 hours on the garden planner (at 3pm) You can book onto that here.

Many thanks, Nicola
