Yellow mottling on Daphne bholua Jaqueline Postill

Yellow mottling on Daphne bholua Jaqueline Postill

My daphne, which was doing really well till about mid Summer, suddenly developed yellow mottling on it's leaves. I planted it last Autumn. Any ideas what this might be - could it have got too dry? though I'd have thought it would then have shed leaves, which it didn't. Virus? Any solutions?? thanks

Seems like all daphnes suffered due to all the rain, they are tricky plants at the best of times, they love good drainage, my daphne odora is hanging in there, it looks a little ragged, even though the birches should be taking up all the water, they are close to 27 years old, that is good for a plant that is considered short lived.

Hmm well maybe it was a delayed reaction to the rain. We had a prolonged dry period, which was when the problem started. Hence why I thought it might be lack of water. Thanks
