Is this broom suitable for a container? I tried to grow it in one but it got frosted and I think it's dead.

    Hi, Stella,
'Boskoop Ruby' (and almost any Cytisus for that matter) does not like to be pruned too hard. It won't regenerate from old wood. So, you will have to expect it to get to its full height and spread of 1.2m (or more) and you won't be able to prune it back too much. As long as you have the space for a container & plant that size, it can be done. Having said that, however, keep in mind that the roots might fill the container so you might need to root prune every 3-4 years to keep the roots from girdling. Also, if you start with a smaller sized plant, you will want to repot a few times - avoid putting a small, young plant in too large a container.
