Question from Shoot User

How would the Viola cornuta do if it were planted in a site that get's absolutely no sun in winter. If it's not for her ... any suggestions? Looking for plants for a small bedding. North-west facing, H4, evergreen, purple/white/yellow flowers.

    Hi, Deone,
I would say it would grow slowly and flowers might be sparse. To get some more ideas, do an advanced search here on Shoot. Click the Advanced Search tab, then select the attributes you want i.e. 'Ground Cover' or 'Beds and Borders' for Use, 'Shade' under 'Sun Exposure' in the 'Choose Conditions' sectionn and so on. Happy hunting!

PS - What about Lamium? Search here on Shoot for different cultivars - lots to choose from. I've become a recent fan of Lamium galeobdolon 'Hermann's Pride' - I love the variegation and flower colour!

Thanks for the reply - I've spent some time with the advanced search and am closer to a decision :-) So many options!
