I've just received confirmation that I have been chosen to join a happy team of RHS 'show makers' to act as host /plant hunter at this year's 100th show. I first read about this position here on Shoot, and my initial application was through this site. I was asked to keep Shoot updated on my progress.
So a great big, enormous thank you to you, I am thrilled to bits, gardening doesn't get any better than this.

      Hi Nicola, my official title is 'show maker', working in 6 hour shifts, for the 5 days, and will be allocated to various zones in the Great Pavillion along with 15 other volunteers.
      Our purpose is to help confused customers or 'wobbling on the edge of buying something' customers, also to promote the work and significance of the RHS. We are to be passionate about plants, gardens and all things horticultural, and to make sure that as many visitors as possible get some 1:1 help, advice or time to chat and share their gardening experience. Our aim is to make this centenary show more memorable than ever. We will be wearing white T-shirts with the Marc Quinn official design logo on the front.
