Hello!
I would like to organise a plant swap afternoon. My husband and I opened a wine bar in Woking, Surrey, also selling teas/coffees and we want our little bar to become a place where interesting and community based events happen not necessarily based on wine!
Being keen on gardening myself I thought it would be a nice idea to create a biannual event where people could come along with some off cuts of their own garden plants (labelled with a little info if you have it) and swap them for new a different plants for your garden from others.
I am talking to a number of gardening bodies including RHS Wisley to see if they can help, maybe by someone being present to help offer advise and general garden chat.
All of this can be enjoyed with a cup of coffee or glass of wine if you would like!
I wanted to post it here to see what people thought of the idea. Also what time of year would be best to do it? I had thought Spring and Autumn but would love to get some expert advice from gardeners, maybe you could suggest a month when cuttings are best?
Please do let me know your thoughts on this and any advice you can share will be greatly appreciated :-)
