This plant is used by Laurie Chetwood and Patrick Collins in their Perfume Garden for Chelsea Flower Show 2009. They say 'Oil of thyme is an essential oil used in herb-type fragrances and colognes. It is obtained by the steam-distillation of the flowers. The Greeks used thyme as an incense in their temples.'
