Height and Spread of this plant

I bought an Acer shir. Aureum for a specific area in my garden. The label said this plant would grow to 2.5m, yet Shoot web site informs me that it will grow to 6m.

Is anyone able to shed some light on the situation for me please?

    I can't speak for the accuracy of the labels or the site, but a friend of mine has one in a fairly shady front garden and it is still well below 2m after 10 years. Maybe 6m is attainable if it has perfect conditions and absolutely no competition!

      Hi Carol
      Thanks for your input - your response was exactly as I was hoping for. The place I wanted to put this could handle around 2m but I was panicking when I read 6m, don't think the neighbours would be too pleased!!
