Hydrangea looking tired (roots too damp?)

This was flowering perfectly over a week ago (end April). I repotted in a slightely larger pot with compost w/ fertaliser, and the week later (after regular watering), leaves & flower stems are bendy and looking so sad. I then realised that the compost might be the problem (not perfect drainage for the plant), so I removed all the compost and put the plant back in the original container. After 4 days, it still looks the same. What should I do to help recover the plant?

    Hi, Kaori,
    Could be a few reasons why it is drooping. Hydrangea, especially in a pot, like moisture but not excessive amounts. Too much or too little water can cause leaves to droop. How long was it in its original container? Finally, repotting can be stressful for a plant so having it done twice has probably taxed it a bit. Leave it be, water when the compost starts to get dry and make sure the pot has adequate drainage. Once it has perked up, try repotting, but only after it is finished flowering.

      Hi Kathy,

      Thank you for your advice. I didn't realise that the re-potting can be stresfull to the plant. I water the plant last night, and doesn't look as droopy as above.
