Iris sibirica

Thank you Kathy - I had wondered if it could be one of the things you suggested (although I did sprinke some rose food round the roots in late spring). As I have never created a herbaceous bed before I wasn't sure how often plants needed dividing.
I would be really grateful if you could give me some tips on how and when to divide Siberian iris? I guess there is nothing I can do to promote flowers this year?

I did wonder if the problem might be that I have a striped rush next to it which is growing very strongly and has grown right up to it?

Thank you for your help - any further suggestions would be welcome.

Hi, Stephanie,
Have they been fed/composted recently? Since yours flowered before, it could be that the soil needs more nutrients. Avoid feeding with a high-nitrogen fertiliser - this promotes leafy growth rather than flowers. Seems a bit early for this but another reason if might not flower is that the clump is overcrowded. You might want to consider dividing when the time is right.

My siberian iris is 3 years old and flowered well the previous 2 years but this year it still has no sign of flowers (just foliage).
Any idea why this would be please?
