will the seedlings from this tree do well or does it have to be grafted

    Hi, Marie,
    It needs to be grafted. Even if it is viable, it will not come true to type. Keep in mind, too, that Laburnum seeds are highly toxic so you might want to consider removing them from the tree (if possible) if children/pets frequent your garden. Do you have this plant in your 'Plants I Have' list? If so, you will get full, monthly care instructions on what to do with it and when.

      Moving on from this, what can I grow under my huge laburnum, which shades and drains the soil? I've tried improving the soil, but even marigolds shrink at the thought of spent soils and comparative shade. Outing the tree not an option. Any advice please?
