Good advice from Mr Bloom. We move trees and shrubs every day. I would like to add, water the plants a couple of days before, when moving try to only pick up and plant in one movement, to keep the roots together. If you have time (even a month or so) root prune, to spread the stress over 2 or more events, just dig a sharp spade around each group of plants. Also do not forget next summer that you have moved these, water them during dry periods.
Hi there, you can in theory move most plants anytime, but weather conditions mean that certain considerations need to be taken into account and best time to move is late spring and early autumn. But if you want to move a plant now, just make sure you've dug out a fair amount around the root ball, add some organic matter to hole and give a good watering every day, unless it rains, it should be fine!
