my gentian makinoi "Marsha" flower buds are not opening and some of them seem to be dying. Can you help? I planted it last month in ericaceous soil as per instructions on the card which came with the pot

Hi, Melanie,
Well, the experts usually say that Gentians require no pruning. However, with 'Marsha', you can cut back the dead leaves in spring before new growth begins. Do you have this plant in your 'Plants I Have' list? If so, you will get all info needed on how to best care for it.
All the best,

What do I do when my gentian marsha stops flowering, do I prune it or let it die back on its own?

Hi, Nathan,
There is no record of G. makinoi being toxic to cats.
