These Cyclamens are not the hardy type and usually killed by the first frosts. They need heated protection in the winter.

I believe these can go outside, my cyclamens are under birches, so they stay dry all summer.

Hi, Siobhán,
I'm not sure where you are located, but if you do plant them out, and you live in a cold area, they most likely will not survive the winter. There are hardy cyclamen and tender cyclamen and the Miracles Series are tender. They are best kept under glass or indoors and treated as house/conservatory plants. Cyclamen coum, however, and its cultivars are fully hardy.

You should plant them in an area that is well drained not getting any water in summer, as they go dormant in summer and will rot. They do well like all spring bulbs under deciduous trees, that suck up any moisture that comes their way.
