Thank you. I will try sowing as you suggest, hopefully my unheated greenhouse will suffice, even though weather is really wierd.

HI, Clare,
Angelica gigas seeds must have light and some heat to germinate. Since they need light, surface sow the seeds on lightly cover with compost. Sow at 10-16C.

The sowing instructions on my seed packet are minimal, I have read it should be sown fresh, which hasn't happened because I've just bought a packet of seeds. Some instructions say sow in pot in coldframe on edge to avoid rotting, in spring, my seed packet says sow march-may, and that's all it says. But I've read that it can be hard to germinate. Any advice appreciated.

Angelica gigas has been used in The HESCO Garden by Leeds City Council for Chelsea Flower Show 2009.
