Hebe Celina
Hebe Celina
Question from Patricia B

I planted this little Hebe in my garden as it is the name of my daughter. The Hebe flowered last year and has looked healthy up to a few weeks ago. Most of the leaves have now turned brown and there does not appear to be any new growth coming through. Any ideas as to why this has happened and if there is anything I can do.

Hi, Patricia, Hebe diosmifolia 'Celina' is borderline hardy so it sounds as if it has been damaged by cold weather. Where was it planted? Was it mulched/protected from frost/winter weather? Kathy C

Hi Cathy It was planted in a sheltered part of the flower bed. I did not protect it from frost/winter weather as I thought it was hardy. When I looked at it today there does still appear to be some green shoots so perhaps with a bit of TLC it will come back to life.
