Can Wisteria floribunda 'Burford' roots be destructive?

I would like to plant a climbing plant along a wire fence dividing two gardens. I would grow next to a patio. Could the roots be destructive to the patio? I know that Ivy, etc can be very destructive, loosing bricks etc. in walls and i had heard that Wisteria is less destructive.

I hope the fence is sturdy, wisteria is quite a heavy vine, as to roots, I have never had it raise concrete, if you water close by, it might send up roots in search of water. I hope you get more feed back on this subject.
