Viburnum Davidii - dropping leaves

why does my Viburnum Davidii develop brown scorched looking leaves which then turn yellow and drop off. It is planted is full sun, is 3 feet high(kept trimmed) and is about 15 years old. New growth is healthy.

    All broad leaved evergreen drop their old leaves in spring, so it should not be of any concern as long as they are getting new leaves.
