Hi there all, being a relatively new gardener I have been growing Penstemon Barbatus from seed, the plants doing well I have potted them in to there own pots they have grown 2-3 inches in height, I still have them in the house on my window sill and take them out side in the day in to my 4 Tier greenhouse, so at what point can I plant them in to my flower bed Im unsure where to go from here I really don't want to harm them by doing anything to early.

    Hi, Mark,
How many true leaves do they have? At this point, depending upon how mild the weather is, you can start leaving them in the greenhouse over night and taking them outside during the day - as long as it is a sheltered spot to begin with. Do this for a few weeks, and then plant them out. Keep an eye on weather forecasts, even though they are hardy, you don't want them to get hit with a late frost.

Hi there Kathy thanks for the reply, most of the plants have 6 good leaves on and more growing all the time, I've been putting them in the greenhouse in the day with the door rolled up i will certainly keep an eye on the weather and leave them in the greenhouse. Thanks Mark
