Hi Kathy, That's really helpful. Very many thanks. I'll be keeping a close eye on it over the winter, especially if we get snow which, I'm thinking, could possibly damage it with its weight. Again, many thanks. Best regards Peter
Hi, Peter, Best to prune when still dormant - around late winter/early spring UNLESS silver leaf is a problem in your area. If so, prune in midsummer. Kathy C
Hi Kathy, That's a relief! I was a bit worried it might take over. Is there a best time of year to do the pruning? I live in the North-east, on a hill and the garden is a bit exposed to the westerly winds. Many thanks for the info. Peter
Hi, Peter, Prunus laurocerasus 'Caucasica' can be used as a hedge which would require annual pruning (sometimes twice a year) to keep it tidy and within the allotted space. Kathy C
I've just bought this plant to screen our wheely bins, and now realise it will probably grow too large if left to itself. Will I be able to keep it the size I want by annual trimming, or would that cause it problems? Thank you.
