I am a client of a garden designer who is providing me with a maintenance plan for a mature garden. Unfortunately I cannot see the plan in Shoot, only on a paper copy, and so with hundreds of plants it is not easy to locate the plants on the plan. Can you make the plan available online to clients and provide functionality to locate plants on the plan?

I have recently been introduced to the website by our garden designer so that I can access the care plans for my plants. However he tells me it is not possible to share the plan online so I only have a paper copy. With 8 borders and hundreds of plants it is very time consuming to try to find plants on the paper copy. Do you plan to make the plan available and have a searchable plant feature in the future?

Nicola, good to see the many new features in Shoot.
However one that that I would still like to see is to be able to print care instructions by Group ... this will enable me to have a To Do list for each area of my garden.
Also can Groups be made to be alphabetical in all the drop downs.

Please add pricing plan for amateurs to have access for garden planner.
It could have only one garden available to save.
And you could not sell garden project you create. It would be only for personal use.

Hi David, improved use of groups is coming in the next version of Shoot coming later this year. You will be able to add to groups when adding plants to a list. You will also be able to see a reference to groups in your care calendar but not split them by group. That will not be supported. I hope that helps? Thanks

Hi David, the only option currently is still to use the multi-plant add process as described previously.
We are currently rebuilding the entire website. That is a massive project and this feature will be improved when the new website is released at some point over the coming 6 months. We cannot say exactly when it will be ready but we are working hard to get the new website built and launched as soon as we can.
I agree. I'm trying again to put my garden into the planner app - having given up on the web version some time ago. I have about 240 plants - I would have expected them to be in alphabetical order at least!
I've now found out how to print a section - file tab, print section. You get a blue box which you can resize (not by dragging the edges as you would expect, but by selecting the size in the properties box. The instructions tell you to click print preview but there doesn't seem to be one. I clicked on the print box and was able to select options.
A thought - a search box for the forums would be very helpful. It would save users having to search all the way through to find an answer to a question, and would avoid you getting multiple questions for the same issue (having just found a post from someone who asked for the same improvement that I did).
Is it possible to print just a section of the plan along with the plant list for that section? I have only been able to print on one/two pages, which is far too small for my garden. I would like to be able to draw a box around a section and print that section and all the plants in it. I thought I had seen something like this on the video but can't find it, maybe I imagined it. It seems an obvious thing to want to do with a large garden.

I have a 3.5 acre garden with some sections densely planted, and a very large and growing plant list. On the web page I can look at my plant list by single group, but in the planner I can't do this. It appears to be ordered by group and then alphabetically by plant, but it would be very helpful if it could be filtered by group. Also if a plant is in more than one group it appears in both groups on the web page (excellent) but only seems to appear in one of the groups on the planner, which then needs a lot of searching to find the plant. So a suggestion and a possible bug here.

I always tick the box to receive notifications by email when the topic is updated - I have had plenty of replies in the forum, but never received an email. Maybe this facitility doesn't work?

I have just carried out an 'upgrade' but I have no idea what version I am on as it does not seem to appear anywhere (most applications have the version under 'help - about'), and there is no information on what, if anything has changed. Is it just bug fixes, are there some new features, or what?

I am more than happy to help. But while videos are useful as an introduction, they are very frustrating when you just want to look something up. There needs to be a search box, similar to that for the plants, but one where you can search for a topic relating to the plans.
That is a good point. We did that as some information e.g. quantity or size is wanted. Also some use this to keep plant passports - in the new version we will look at how we make the notes optional.

Hi Nicola, thanks for this comment. We have a collection of shorter 'quick guide' videos here. We are working on more help and how we organise it. Maybe we may call you to get your feedback on that as it is rolled out?
When I search for how to set up a group, all I get is a list of plants. There really needs to be a separate search for help in how to use the tool which looks at forums or other help pages. In general I have found the information on using the tool very poor. The videos are good but are very general, and there seems to be no way of asking how to do specific things without resorting to the forums. Much better search facility is needed.

If you add plants through the multiple plants box, then when you confirm you get a message saying how many plants you have added. This is fine, but then if you go back and delete a comment from one of these plants, the box which says how many you have added pops up again, rather than a box saying you have deleted a comment.

When you add plants through the box where you can add multiple plants, and you then choose from a list of possible plants, whatever you have typed in gets added as a comment. This is a pain as it is usually unwanted information (duplicate of plant name) and then you have to go back and delete it. Adding what you have typed as a comment should be optional (via a tick box).
