Thanks John and Carolyn!

Hi Ishbel, Here are some of the varieties mentioned for sale in our new marketplace: Adelaide D'orleans (Rambling Rose), Alberic Barbier - Rambling Rose and Felicite Et Perpetue (Rambling Rose) . Hope that helps?

I would recommend R. Adelaide d'Orleans, R. Alberic Barbier or R. Felicite Perpetue - all prolific flowering climbers which will cover a bank with semi-evergreen foliage that might just stay green all year round - there is no guaranteed evergreen rose.

Rambling roses when not trained vertically can make excellent ground cover. These two Adelaide d’Orleans (Rambling Rose) and Félicité et Perpétue (Rambling Rose) are also pretty much evergreen.

Is there such a thing or a good alternative as I have a very large bank that I would like to produce a splendid show in summer and to be green in winter?
