early flowering clematis, maybe "blue dancer"

early flowering clematis, maybe "blue dancer"

I was given two early flowering, delicate blue, with later flush of flowers in autumn, pretty seedheads clematis. As the leaves match, I think this is the most likely candidate, they have no name. Do you have a suggestion for what else they could be?
Advice on planting, please, should it be deep and should I cut right back?

    Hi Kay,

Do you have any photographs you could send us? When exactly does it flower – has this now passed?

If you could send us some images it will hopefully help identification, and subsequent advice on planting and pruning. As a general rule, clematis like to have their roots in the shade, and rest of the plant in sun, but there are a couple of species this is not the case for. Pruning is determined by which ‘group’ the clematis falls into. If you could give us specific info on when exactly it flowers this should help in that respect.

Look forward to hearing back from you!

    Many thanks
    Katy

Thank you for the response, can't do pic, but it flowered in April, left fluffy seed heads now. It says it flowers again later in the year. Does that help?
