Cedrus deodara ‘Aurea’ is conical with a drooping leader initially, becoming broad-crowned later, which suggests that what you’re seeing is a fairly common growth habit of this tree. You should find that it continues to get taller, but not just through one leader branch. How tall is it? Do you have any pictures you can show us?
Don’t forget to add it to your ‘plants I have’ list to receive further information: [LINK]https://https://www.shootgardening.com/plant/cedrus-deodara-aurea[/LINK]
My cedrus deodara aurea has been in our garden for 3 years now only this season it hasn't started to grow any taller. Its growing outwards like it should do but the lead branch hasn't grown at all. Any thoughts as to way this is? If the lead bud is damaged will another branch take the lead?
