I have always wanted this plant and am thrilled with the one I purchased in a pot earlier this year. It is flowering well. But I was very disappointed to find it described in this month's Gardeners World magazine as a "biennial" which will die after flowering. Your database describes it as a perennial. Can you reassure me it should be there (and hopefully improved!) next year?

    Hi Lisa,

    This plant is biennial, but self seeds freely so should be a self perpetuating presence in the garden.
    To grow in containers you may wish to collect seeds from the seedhead and pot them on yourself.
