Hi. I see no one has replied to your question. Cut out the spent flower stems and leave the foliage to die back down at the end of the season. Then pull out the leaves when dead. If they look very messy now cut the foliage back and new leaves should appear.

My Day Lilies (the common yellow type) have finished flowering (it's August.) Should I cut them back, and if so, then how far - to the ground??
