Learn how to garden without breaking the bank or your back!!
During this 8-week course we will cover as much as possible about gardening. Although you will receive handouts weekly with helpful hints and tips, the class setting will be an informal interactive one with plenty of Questions and Answers, allowing issues relating specifically to your garden to be addressed.
If time allows we will cover the following: Basic garden design; Composting, Mulching; Recycling; Plant Identification - suitable plants for different situations and; seasons; Nature and wildlife in the Garden - how to encourage them in and then keep them there; Plants and Plant Care - how, when and what to plant and how to prune and maintain them. Basic Propagation. Tools - what tool for what job, how to look after them and more importantly how to use them properly. Watering - how to water plants properly, when not to water and the benefits of water including aquatic plants and fish for your pond.
If enough interest is shown a guided tour of a public garden may be arranged although the price is not included in the course fee.
Class starts on Monday September 27th 2010, 8pm to 9.30pm. It runs for 8 weeks and will finish approx 22nd Nov 2010 (finish date depends on Mid term break).
Fee is very reasonable at 120 Euro.
