Unlike other Luzula species, L. nivea prefers full sun. Grow in poor to moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. Tolerates partial to full shade.

Good question. L. nivea doesn't play by the rules! Unlike most Luzula species, L. nivea prefers full sun but easily tolerates partial to full shade.
