A. koa is a dense, vigorous yet tender, wide-spreading, evergreen tree with sickle-shaped, grey-green leaves and racemes of spherical, pale yellow flower heads from late winter to early summer, year-round in ideal growing conditions. Flowers are followed by flat green seed pods ripening brown.
